The MediaTek Helio X20 is expected as one of the flagship processors of early 2016 but it is still not there. What if the 10-core processor had been delayed by overheating issues?

What if the MediaTek was experiencing the same drama as Qualcomm last year with its Snapdragon 810? In any case, this is what the (always very well-informed) Chinese site Anzhuo implies. After designing many chips dedicated to entry-level, the company then saw the big way before launching the Helio X10 and then formalizing the Helio X20, its first core deca processor.
A processor announced last summer but whose color we still haven’t seen. In the early days, MediaTek had already had to deal with problems related to Wi-Fi. Now, it seems that the company is solving on a whole other extent, the chip would show a significant overheating. That’s anything but good news when you consider that he’s supposed to be here before the end of the first quarter.
With its Helio X20, MediaTek hopes to compete with the biggest, including Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 expected, among others, in some variants of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and, more generally, on most of the high-end Android of 2016. According to the first benchmarks on the run, the Helio X20 remains less powerful than the Snapdragon 820 but that does not mean that it is not promising on paper.
Unfortunately, if there are problems of overheating, it could not only ruin the experience of the smartphones that will be equipped with it but also lead to very bad publicity for the firm. According to Anzhuo, HTC and Xiaomi had planned to integrate it into some of their future smartphones but would eventually give it up.
