Intel, new Wi-Fi drivers for Windows fix blue screen errors and more

Intel’s new Wi-Fi 23.40.0.4 drivers for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11 eliminate rare but annoying issues found with several wireless adapters made by the company. In the official patch notes, there is specific reference to blue screen errors (BSODs) and the appearance of error exclamation marks in the Device Management section of Microsoft operating systems.

The package also includes unspecified updates to functionality and security, as well as regulatory changes aimed specifically at the Chinese market. Below is the list of Intel Wi-Fi adapters supported by the new drivers:

The update package, also available in alternate version 22.160.0 for Windows 10 32-bit, includes drivers for the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168, Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168, and Wireless 7265 (Rev.D.) adapters. In the case of Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11, the software updates to version 19.51.50.2. In the case of Windows 10 32-bit to version 19.51.40.1.

While waiting for the arrival of Wi-Fi 7 drivers for Windows, Intel warns, new adapters with support for the new connection standard are limited to Wi-Fi 6E capabilities
