iPhone 15, not only overheating: problems also reported to the speakers

The debut of the iPhone 15 on the market was not without shadows. First the issue of overheating, then the resistance tests that have shown a certain fragility of the Pro Max, now some reports on the net shed light on another potential problem that concerns the audio of a bit ‘all the new iPhone. In short, in two weeks enough things had already happened, but there seems to be more.

On Reddit the reports of problems with speakers and ear capsule are not few. To kick off the stories a user who was among the first to hold an iPhone 15 Pro Max, over a week ago. After doing the initial setup, he noticed the abnormal performance of the earphone capsule during calls with the volume set to maximum, but the main speaker of the smartphone didn’t seem to be without problems either. The user does not go around the matter too much, the two speakers give the feeling of being damaged.

Even some iPhone 15 Plus seem involved, and there are those who expand the issue to the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 “standard”:

My iPhone 15 Plus has the same problem, and so did all the iPhone 15 models that I put to the test at the Apple Store – wrote a week ago on Reddit user PlayfulLow7367.
There are also reports on TikTok, where in particular a user – milesabovetech – says that Apple staff shrugged in front of the practical demonstration of the problem with the speakers of his iPhone 15 Pro Max, recognizing it and replacing the unit twice in a few days, a sign that the defective iPhones may not be few. Ours, the one we used for the review, did not highlight problems, on the contrary: we really appreciated the performance of the earphone capsule and the speaker, together they offer a powerful and deep audio like on few other smartphones. There is currently no public statement from Apple on the matter.

Apple is committed to solving the other story that has held court in these first days of marketing of the iPhone 15 Pro, that of overheating. Apple has admitted that something is wrong both for some third-party apps that would overload the system and for some bugs of iOS 17, on which teams are already working to solve with a software update.
