Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant, has been getting new features since its launch in 2014 (and yes already!). The proliferation of skills available has added many strings to Alexa’s bow. It can now help you find the wine to accompany your meal, or remind you when to take your medication.
Recently, users and fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can enjoy the voice of Nick Fury, aka actor Samuel L. Jackson. However, on Monday, September 14, 2020, Amazon announces the arrival of a new feature rather convenient. Indeed, Amazon has decided to make it easier to print your documents.
Thanks to a partnership with major printer manufacturers such as HP,Canon, Epson and Brother, Alexa can now automatically detect compatible devices within range. Of course, this requires a new minimum for your printer. It must at least carry a Wi-Fi or/and Bluetooth connection.
“Print with Alexa”
Then just say“Alexa, find my printer” for the assistant to take care of the equipment with your printer. Many commands are available to the user. Please note that Alexa will print templates for you, which you will then have to fill by hand.
For example, if you ask“Alexa, print me my shopping list”, the assistant will print a canvas for you. It’s up to you to complete it as you wish. It is therefore possible to print templates for a shopping list, things to do, but also crossword puzzles, Suduku, mazes, coloring, a checkered sheet, cooking recipes, etc.
To make sure that the connection between Alexa and the printer went smoothly, just ask for a test page to be printed. You can at leisure add or remove a printer from Alexa’s memory. A little more appreciable, Alexa will notify you when the ink cartridges are soon empty. As a reminder, Amazon Alexa equips the recent Xiaomi Mi Band 5, the latest smartwatches of the Chinese manufacturer.
