Audio-Technica M50xBT2, headset with 50h battery

Anyone who wants a high quality headset with Bluetooth connection will gain one more option. Audio-Technica announced on Wednesday (18) its new model ATH-M50xBT2, and it already has arrival date and suggested price here: September, for R $ 1.999. It features new microphones for connection, high-quality codecs and support for voice assistants. However, unlike other popular headphones, it has no noise cancellation.

The M50xBT2 is the successor to the M50xBT and the Bluetooth version of the M50. This model is closer to studio headphones and widely used by those who work with audio. There is even the explanation of it not counting on noise cancellation: a feature of the type could hinder the fidelity of sound, which is the focus of the product. Speaking of which, by the way, it features 45mm drivers, dedicated amplifier and ADVANCED AUDIO DAC AK4331.

While leaving out noise cancellation — flagship products like the Sony WH-1000XM4 and Bose Noise Cancelling 700, which, it’s worth saying, are more expensive — the M50xBT2 offers a number of interesting tools. The Bluetooth connection supports the high-quality LDAC codec, in addition to the standard AAC and SBC. It also features a low latency mode, which should be useful for videos and games. For those who dispense with modernities, you can use the headset with a good old P2 cable of 3.5 mm.

The M50xBT2 has a USB-C starter for recharging. The promise is that the battery lasts 50 hours, and a quick recharge mode promises 3 hours of playback with 10 minutes in the socket.

On the connections part, the headset offers the Sidetone feature. It reproduces its own voice, thus preventing you from having to speak too loudly to be able to hear yourself. It also has a mute button to close the microphone —this is certainly very useful in times of remote meetings.
