Many rumors about the next Honor products from China thanks to the attentive Digital Chat Station. The insider in the past few hours has published on Weibo some advances on the account of the Honor Magic 5 series, the Honor 80 series and the successor of Honor Magic V, the company’s foldable.
For the announcements, however, it is first necessary that Qualcomm presents the top-of-the-range chip for the first part of 2023, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that Honor will use for Magic 5 and for the new generation foldable. The Snapdragon Summit will be held from November 15 to 17 in Hawaii, so it’s now a matter of days. Then the whirlwind of presentations will start, which will also be joined by Honor.
Digital Chat Station has no doubt that it will form the basis of the Honor Magic 5. Around the American chip produced in Taiwan in TSMC’s factories (a little less busy now than in the heyday) for the whistleblower there will be a 6.8-inch display with curved edges with high refresh rate, a 50 MP main camera with dedicated ISP and artificial intelligence “help”, IP68 certification, and 100-watt charging with cable, at 50 watts wireless.
The details on the Honor 80 and 80 Pro and the successor of Magic V instead are not many for the moment. The first two should represent an extra option in the range on the front of the “engine”, which should not be Qualcomm but MediaTek, while the third will arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Digital Chat Station talked about their charging capabilities: the three should have a 66-watt charger, but someone (and the thought goes to the Honor 80 Pro) should support input powers of up to 100 watts.
