Instagram now allows you to save posts to collections shared with friends

Instagram, which announced in recent days that it will also show advertising within search results, has launched a new feature that will allow users to create “collaborative collections” that can be shared with friends. Not only that, guests can also contribute to the collection by adding photos, videos and Reels. The collections feature has existed on Instagram for years but this new possibility will make it even more complete.

To use collaborative collections, users will need to click on the bookmark icon at the bottom right of the post they want to save, select “create a new collaborative collection”, give the collection a name, and activate the “allow friends to join this collection” option. From here, you can add up to 250 people who can view, add, or remove posts.

Collaborative collections can also be created within a chat, making them even more customizable and useful for discussions between friends. In this way, chat participants can contribute to the collection, adding posts and images that share their interests.

However, there are some limitations to consider. For example, if you add a post from a private account to a collaborative collection, only people who follow the account will be able to see it.

Also, if a creator decides to delete a post that was placed in a collection, Instagram will automatically remove it from the collaborative collection as well. Once created, finally, it will not be possible to make a collaborative collection private, nor will it be possible to share private collections that have been created with other people.
