A possible NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card may have been spotted in the PCI ID repository, suggesting the existence of a similar GPU variant. The new device ID “2703” has been added to the repository of the
TechPowerUp GPU Database Editor.
This ID has been linked to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU, which has been the subject of recent rumors. Even though the PCI ID is new, we can’t be sure if it’s actually this model or something completely different, but the ID is close to that of the base GeForce RTX 4080, i.e. “2704”.
Recently, rumors have been circulating that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER could use an AD102/AD103 GPU combination based on availability, as opposed to previous ones that spoke of only adopting the top variant. Leaker Kopite7kimi has revealed that the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER will have similar specs for both variants. There have also been reports that the card could have up to 20GB of GDDR6X memory on a 320-bit bus interface, but considering that AD103 GPUs max out at a 256-bit bus, that may be unlikely.
Despite this, the GeForce RTX 40 series “SUPER” label is now used by all three leakers, but even then we can’t say if this will be the official name, as NVIDIA tends to change a lot of things before a GPU launches. Given that we’re still facing the first and fragmentary leaked information about the RTX 40 SUPER series, a lot could change until launch.
