Microsoft Build 2024 will be held from May 21 to 23 and, most likely, it will be one of the most significant editions in recent years because the revolution focused on artificial intelligence will start from Seattle – the city where the event will take place. We also know that the day before the opening – i.e. May 20 – the Redmond company will make important announcements, unveiling the new generation of Surface products and, above all, officially introducing the Snapdragon X Elite chip based on ARM architecture to the market.
Already from here it is clear what the 2024 edition of the Build will be focused on, the main topics that will be covered in Seattle have now been confirmed with the publication of the topics of each individual session, in which developers will have the opportunity to learn about the latest news from Microsoft by delving into different themes. So this year’s event will be predominantly focused on Windows on Arm and the AI features of Windows.
Quite eloquent are the sessions Introducing the Next Generation of Windows on Arm (available onsite and online) and Designing for a brand new Windows feature (on-site only). The first is described as follows:
“Check out this year’s exciting new experiences for Arm-based Windows, such as intelligent Windows apps that take advantage of the rich functionality of the NPU.”
As for the session on Windows AI features, on the other hand:
Today, we’re introducing all-new features that give users a deeper interaction with their digital lives on Windows through advanced AI capabilities.
Tons of other sessions talk directly about artificial intelligence, including those focused on Microsoft Cloud, accessibility, and, of course, Copilot. Before that there will be the opening keynote of Satya Nadella who will share the stage with Mustafa Suleyman, Rajesh Jha and Kevin Scott. We will talk about the opportunities that will be unlocked by AI, transforming the way developers work and increasing productivity across industries.
