Season 4 of The Boys continues on Prime Video every week, and one violent scene in episode 4 in particular has stuck with fans. Antony Starr (Homelander) also had a lot of fun and looks back on this experience.
THE LAB SCENE IN EPISODE 4 OF THE BOYS SEASON 4
The wait is long between each season of our favorite series. In the case of The Boys, it’s even more frustrating that season 4 only offers eight episodes. But what episodes! While the teaser of the fifth is already appetizing, fans have not yet passed the fourth and the last. It must be said that this is excellent, and that one scene in particular should leave a lasting impression on us. Spoiler alert! The scene in question is the one in which Homelander returns to the laboratory where a bunch of experiments were conducted on him in his youth.
At that moment, the feelings of the character played by Anthony Starr collided: “I wanted this scene to be very conflictual. On the one hand, there was a certain sense of nostalgia and a little bit of melancholy, and an incredible trauma that comes up, but also a whole mix of different things.” Finally, the scene ends with the ruthless massacre of the members of the laboratory. And as creepy as it sounds, the interpreter of Homelander loved shooting this scene.
ANTONY STARR (HOMELANDER) TALKS ABOUT HIS DARK DESIRE In an interview with Variety, Antony Starr went through the process of shooting a significant scene of the fourth episode of the fourth season of The Boys, the massacre.
Extremely involved in the series, he said that he collaborated with Kripke to shifted the pitch of the show deeply. Quite stiff at first, this scene must looks very natural because Starr was able to ad lib a lot more than he anticipated to properly portray a Homelander more conflicted than ever.
This is the kind of conflict, the darkness and the violence of which this scene consist, is one of the favorite sequences of the actor in the entire series.
Here’s why: It’s as dark and twisted as it seems, but it was one of the funniest sequences that I’ve ever shot on the show I really had a great time doing it. The more weird, the more dark – nothing can be enough for me, and that always has been the case. That’s what I love the most in working on TV shows – we can work out things on screen that we can only dream of in our lives. So Just to remind all lovers of the show, the fifth season will be the final one of the series. The end is approaching.
