That said, the exact date for releasing this new console is yet, to be determined. However, a recent information leak published by CentroLeaks on X via ScreenRant reveals that Nintendo could officially introduce the Switch 2 in January next year and a release in March.
This is of course something that has been rumored, but it aligns with prior leaks. They credit this information to a “reliable” person on Weibo who has leaked almost everything regarding the latest Nintendo Direct.
A feverish wait
As we wait for the official word on Switch 2, it is understood that the new console will be compatible with the games in the current Switch. It is expected to have an OLED screen It could feature two chips-powerful list in the handheld and another in the dock.
Another piece of hardware is the Joy-Cons, these small detachable controllers that should be redesigned to attach magnetically and are much larger.
An issue for the competition?
Nintendo’s new console could pose a lot of problem to its competitors. For instance, Sony is said to working on a portable version of the PS5 to rival Nintendo Switch 2. Who is going to come out on top in the console war? That remains to be seen.
The certainty is that we’ll know more when Nintendo officially announces the console, likely in January but at the latest by the end of March next year.
