How do you out-of-sync with your Amazon account?
The first step is to clear any trace of your Amazon account from your Echo speaker. To do this, open the dedicated app on your smartphone and click Devices. Then select the speaker you want to remove. Scroll down until you find the email address of your Amazon account and click Unregister. A window then appears to confirm your choice. Once this is done, your Amazon account is no longer accessible from the Echo speaker.
For safety, it is also advisable to restore the device to factory settings. Methods vary depending on the model:
- First generation: Press the resetbutton below the speaker at length until it shows an orange light
- Second generation: Keep microphone Off and Volume buttons lowat the same time until an orange light appears
- Third generation: Hold the Action button until an orange light appears
- Amazon Echo Studio: Keep microphone Off and Volume buttons lowat the same time until an orange light appears
- Amazon Echo Flex: Hold the Action button until an orange light appears
- Amazon Echo Show: Keep Mute and Volume buttons low at the same time until an orange light appears
