Screen and design
For those who like large screens
When it comes to screen, Samsung usually stands out, and here is no different. The South Korean is betting on a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display for the Galaxy A72, with Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate.
On the other side of the ring Motorola also delivers a panel with 6.7″, but with LCD IPS technology, which is less economical and leaves to be desired in contrasts, since its black is never entirely black, there is always a background pulled to the gray due to the backlight. Still, the Moto G100 delivers great definition and also embarks on the trend of higher refresh rate, with 90 Hz. It also has HDR10, for a color reproduction as faithful as possible.
Galaxy A72 is tougher
Moving on to the design of the devices, the Moto G100 has that “air” of Moto G, but with attractive colors, in a beautiful gradient that catches the eye, in case you are not wearing a matte cap. The Galaxy A72 also has an interesting look, and even more elegant, I would say, with a camera module that follows the color of the housing and colors in more pastel shades. Both are coated with plastic.
Samsung’s model has a great asset: IP67 protection against water and dust, which allows submersion in up to 1 meter of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. The Moto G100 has no IP certification, unfortunately.
Both bring 3.5mm connector for headphones, which is great news. NFC support is also guaranteed on both phones, which enables approximate payment. The Galaxy A72’s fingerprint reader is positioned under the display, while the Moto G100 is on the side of the phone.
Performance and features
Moto G100 has the highest firepower
The power is the great differential of the Moto G100. It features the Snapdragon 870 processor, turbocharged version of the Snapdragon 865 Plus. It’s not even qualcomm’s most advanced – it’s still behind the Snapdragon 888, present in more expensive phones – but it beats the premium Snapdragon 720G intermediate on the Galaxy A72.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Moto G100 still has 12 GB of RAM, double the amount on the A72, and the GPU is the Adreno 650. All this boils down to a top-of-the-line mobile performance on a Moto G (something unthinkable a few years ago). You won’t get choking on multitasking and you’ll be able to run games with maximum graphics and constant frame rate.
