Exynos 8 Octa crushes Snapdragon 820 and Kirin 950 on Geekbench

While the Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8 Octa processors have just been announced, a first comparative benchmark has just emerged and clearly leaves the advantage to Samsung’s chip which gets 2000 points more than its rival on the multi-core test of Geekbench.

Samsung Exynos.

If on the single core test of the benchmark tool, the two processors are almost tied, as we saw a few days ago, on the multi-core test of Geekbench, it is the last processor of Samsung that leads the dance. The Exynos 8 Octa that should be found in half of the units of the Galaxy S7, depending on the markets, gets an incredible score of 7400 points.

Not only does it surpass the MediaTek Helio X20 with a nice score of 6500 points, the Kirin 950 which gets 6400 points and the Snapdragon 820 from Qualcomm which comes second in the rankings with a score of 5300 points followed by the Apple A9 chip of the iPhone 6S. A sharper gap than ever between Qualcomm and Samsung.

While Samsung’s Soc Exynos 8 Octa is only expected in the Korean firm’s mobiles, at least without a first time, the Snapdragon 820 will animate most of the top-of-the-range 2016, starting with the Xiaomi Mi5 or the successor to the HTC One M9. His score remains very good but he nevertheless seems to lag behind his competitors.

Of course, all this does not call into question the performance it will be able to offer as part of a real use, especially since it is probably limited on this type of test by its quad core architecture while Samsung and MediaTek offer processors of eight and ten cores.
