On July 9, the Android Guide TV Twitter account published the first photos of the Google Nest, the replacement for the Google Home. As it had with the Pixel 4 at the time, Google chose to cut the grass under the feet of the leakers and formalized the next day the Google Nest. The device adopts a design similar to that of the Google Home Mini or Google Home Max, in a slightly longer format.
Apart from the discovery of the design, the manufacturer had not given any further information about his new baby. However, this Thursday, August 6, 2020, the leaker Roland Quandt gives us several information. According to its sources, the Google Nest (codename J2) is expected to be available for sale by the end of August 2020,at a price close to $120, or $101 after conversion.
While previous photos revealed the grey color of the Google Nest, the informant says that the device will also be available in two other colors called“Charcoal” and“Chalk” in Europe.

There’s a new Google Home launching soon codenamed “J2” and it’s supposedly going to cost about 100 Euros. Available from the end of August, retail says.

Towards a nomadic use?
As a reminder, Google had shared a short video with several American media in which you could see the Google Nest in action. First, the clip confirms that it will be possible to pair two Google Nest to produce a stereo sound. In addition, a child can be seen at the very end of the video with a Google Nest in hand. Until then, the manufacturer had always made it a point of honor to stage its speakers on furniture, tables or desks.
This new Google Nest may have been designed for mobile use, just like Amazon’s Echo Input Portable. Obviously, all this is just speculation and assumptions and should be taken with tweezers (including leaker info). We will have to wait for more official information from the manufacturer. But if the launch of the Google Nest is indeed planned for the end of August, Google should soon speak.
