The new Galaxy S24 range could arrive almost a month earlier than its predecessors, as happened with the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5. According to rumors, in fact, it seems that Samsung has decided to anticipate the launch of its new high-end smartphones in mid-January 2024.
If on the one hand the days that separate us from the period in which the launch event could be held decrease, on the other hand the rumors about the aesthetic and hardware characteristics of these smartphones begin to intensify.
In recent days, the well-known leaker Ice Universe has reported rumors not particularly exciting on the photographic sector that could have the Galaxy S24 Ultra: a dual 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 50MP 5x with 1 / 2.52 “sensor and 0.7μm pixels.
Today, however, the first renderings arrive that allow us to have a clearer idea of what should be the design of the Galaxy S24, the “basic” version of the trio that would be completed with a “Plus” version and the more powerful “Ultra”. The source is authoritative: OnLeaks.
Although the front display should always remain 6.2 inches, the same diagonal as the current model, there would instead be significant changes regarding the chassis. Judging by the images, the Galaxy S24 will have very flat and square edges.
The renderings, at first glance, vaguely resemble the lines of an iPhone 14 Pro, minus those of the iPhone 15 on which Apple has begun to “soften” the edges. On the side you can see the keys for adjusting the volume, the power button and a pill insert”, probably the antenna for the UWB (Ultra-Wideband) chip or for the 5G mmWave. Moving on, there are the USB Type-C port, the SIM card slot, a microphone and speaker at the bottom, and two more microphones on the top.
In terms of size, the Galaxy S24 is expected to be slightly taller and less wide than the Galaxy S23 with dimensions of about 147 x 70.5 x 7.6 mm against 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm. Aesthetically, however, there would not be many differences on the arrangement of the photographic sector with the three sensors in a vertical line flanked by the LED flash.
The renderings suggest the adoption of a satin finish for the rear glass, which definitely improves the feel to the touch, and a glossy finish for the profile, which could make it a little more slippery.
As for the hardware compartment, Galaxy S24 should have a Dynamic AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, HDR10+ support, Gorilla Glass, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor from Qualcomm (which will be announced in the coming weeks) and a battery with a capacity between 3900 mAh and 4000 mAh.
