Upcoming Motorola Edge leak with details about screen, battery and more

Motorola is preparing for the launch of several Motorola Edge phones —and one of them had already been partially unveiled: the Motorola Edge 20 Lite, which was discovered under the codename “Kyoto.” Now, a new leak seems to have revealed the technical plug of four models: Kyoto itself, the Motorola “Pstar” and two versions of the Motorola “Berlin”.

The information is from the well-known Evan Blass, who has a good track record of hits on predictions about the smartphone industry. In a recent tweet, Evleaks revealed a table with specifications of the models mentioned earlier. The chart shows details about screen, processor, RAM, battery, and more.

Check out, below, everything we know so far about the so-called Motorola Edge line phones.

Motorola “Kyoto”, or Motorola Edge 20 Lite
As had already been revealed, the Motorola “Kyoto”, or Edge 20 Lite, should arrive with 108 MP rear triple camera. Now we have new specifications, which also detail the other lenses, one with 8 MP sensor (hybrid, ultrawide and macro) and another of 2 MP (depth). Already the selfies would be made with 32 megapixels.

According to Evan Blass, the phone has Full HD+ screen with 90 Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 720 chip and 6 or 8 GB RAM, depending on the market.

The Motorola Edge 20 Lite should have 128 GB storage, which is standard for the segment, and 5,000 mAh battery. It would go out of the factory in the colors “Iron” and “Cosmo”.

Motorola “Berlin”
According to the leak, there are two Berlin variants — one global and one from the U.S., called “Berlin NA.” They differ by screen size, battery and rear camera set.

The U.S. model would display 6.78″ versus 6.67″ global. Both would have Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, for more fluid graphics and smoother transitions.

On the rear cameras, the 108 MP main sensor would be present in both variants. However, while the US model would have hybrid lens (ultrawide and macro) with 8 MP, while the overall would bring a higher resolution sensor, 16 MP, for this function.

The 2 MP depth sensor present in the “Berlin NA” would be replaced by an 8 MP telephoto lens in “Berlin”, for optical zoom up to 3x. On the front camera, all the same: 32 megapixels.

Moving to battery capacity, we would have 5,000 mAh in the North American variant and 4,000 mAh in the global.

The amount of RAM, storage space and chips would be the same: 6/8 GB, 128/256 GB and Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, respectively.

Motorola “Pstar”
Finally, the Motorola “Pstar”, with model number “XT2153-1” should be the most advanced smartphone of the new vintage, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip. It should rely on options of 6, 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and 128 or 256 GB of storage.

Rumors indicate that the device should be destined for markets in Asia, Europe, Australia, India and Latin America. Despite this, its screen resembles the “Berlin”, with 6.67 inches and Full HD+ resolution, in addition to the refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Just like all other models in the line, the main camera is 108 MP. The ultrawide lens is upgraded and now has a 16 MP sensor (it is also capable of making macro photos), and the latest rear lens is an 8 MP telephoto lens that allows zoom up to 5x.

In China, the Motorola “Pstar” should have 16 MP front camera, and in other markets, 32 MP.

The 4,500 mAh battery is a reduction from the “Berlin NA”. But if we think pstar’s chip is more efficient, maybe at the end of the day, they’re even. In addition, the “Pstar” should come with ready for support, which allows you to use the smartphone as a desktop.
